Reformed in 1996, the TCF Fayetteville Area Chapter has been in continuous operation since that time. The chapter adheres to the national association in its mission and principles.
The charter members joined together at a time that some were very fresh in their grief and others were far removed from their's. Help was provided by John & Rose Stanley from the Gastonia, NC Chapter in the process of rechartering. They were Regional Coordinators at the time for North Carolina and were familiar with the original Fayetteville Chapter.
The first Chapter Leader was  Elaine Grindle followed by Sharon Jackson-Davis and, later Co-Chapter Leader Jennifer German. Currently Cindy Tart Bowers is the Chapter Leader.
Former Chapter Leader Elaine Grindle once said "The grief has to be dealt with. A time comes when the grief no longer controls you, you control it."
